The one thing holding you back that you’ve forgotten about

Hey there,
I recently watched a movie called IF with my son, Dimitri, and my wife, Ali. It really struck
a chord with me, and I wanted to share some thoughts with you.
The movie explores the idea of imaginary friends that we have when we’re young. These
friends help us be strong, courageous, and supportive. As kids, we often lean on them as
our inner advocates, giving us the confidence to face the world.
But as we grow up, life starts to happen. We hear things from our parents and teachers,
face trauma, and slowly, that imaginary friend—our inner advocate—gets pushed aside.
In their place, an inner critic takes over, becoming the co-pilot in our minds. The support
and courage we once felt become overshadowed by doubt and limiting beliefs.
I believe this is where we often lose our confidence and courage. It’s crucial to remember
that inner advocate, to breathe life back into them. We need to put away our inner critic
and allow our inner advocate to ride shotgun once more.
Imagine how empowering it would be to reconnect with that part of ourselves—the one
that cheers us on and encourages us to take bold steps. By doing so, we can regain our
confidence, courage, and belief in our potential.
Let’s make it a point to silence the inner critic and amplify the voice of our inner advocate.
Remember, you have the strength and support within you to conquer any challenge.
Stay strong, and never forget your inner advocate is there to guide you.
Best,
Nick Koumalatsos
